Obituary
Virginia Beach ~ Gayle M. Coble passed away on her Lord’s birthday, Christmas Day, 2020, as the sun was setting, and 24 hours after family and close friends prayed for her on Christmas Eve. She was born on March 16, 1949, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Glenn and Hortense Morris. She is also predeceased by her sister Brenda Sue.
Gayle is survived by her husband Eric, her son Brandon Cummings, her daughter in law Erin, and her grandchildren Kaia and McKenna. She is also survived by her nephew Brice, her nieces Malinda and Kacie, and her first cousin Mary Sue, who was like a sister.
Gayle graduated from Granby High School and worked for Royster Company in Norfolk for over 20 years. She enjoyed hosting family occasions and holidays, cooking, baking, gardening, traveling, bowling and playing cards. She volunteered for Virginia Beach City Public Schools and the March of Dimes. Her family meant everything to her, acting as a second mom to her nephew and nieces and especially being Grandma.
Gayle loved the holidays, when she decorated her home with her Snow Babies and Boyd’s Bears. The family will hold a private ceremony in July. In the meantime, condolences may be offered at www.vacremationsociety.com. Memorial donations may be sent to March of Dimes, 860 Greenbrier Circle, Chesapeake, VA 23320. The family asks that you remember her on her birthday.

Eric and Family, We are very sad to hear about Gayle's passing. Frank and I were just talking about how much we missed running into you guys throughout the city. We are praying for you, Brandon and your grandkids that the Lord would ease your sorrow. You all were the best neighbors we've ever had. Gayle was like a second mom to our two boys. Take care and hope to see you around. God Bless You. Frank, Trish, Nathan and Kyle.

I am truly sorry that Gayle passed away. I have known her since high school and Brenda was in my graduating class. I worked with Gayle for many years at Royster. She taught me how to bowl and we were on the same bowling league. I keep in touch with Mary Sue. Gayle was a wonderful friend, wife, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed. My condolence and prayers for you Eric and the entire family.
