Donald Ennis beloved husband and father went to be with God on February 10, 2021. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home in Williamsburg. Donald is survived by loving wife, Fran Ennis; his two daughters, April Ennis and Laurel Barnhill; four grandchildren: Zachary Powell and wife, Kitty, Addison Powell and wife, Victoria, Taylor Armstrong, Tory Armstrong; and one great granddaughter, Persephone Powell. Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Hilary Armstrong; sister, Helen McKnight; and parents, Bess and Leo Ennis. Military service: Royal Canadian Air Force and USA Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Born in Montreal, later moved to the US as an electrical engineer and MBA, Donald traveled the world developing and implementing communication systems, helping citizens, governments and businesses communicate across the miles. He loved spending time on his boat with family and friends, making beautiful wood furniture and doing crossword puzzles especially the Sunday ones and always in pen. His wisdom, laugh, quirky sense of humor and helping hand will be missed and cherished by all who knew him. Go with God Love Your Family.
A private family service will be held at Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church, Williamsburg. The family requests donations to Saint Martin’s in lieu of flowers.
