Barbara Ellen McDonough-Miles, 81, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away on January 4, 2021 after a tough battle with Alzheimer’s.
Barbara was born on July, 31, 1939 to Patrick J. McDonough and Jean Cameron Humphries in Elizabeth, NJ. After graduating from Keyport High School in 1957, she worked as a photography assistant for Pappas Studios. She met her husband, Frank Miles, when they were in the sixth grade. They wed January 19, 1963. They moved to Maryland in 1964.
When Barbara had her daughter, Ellen, she decided to dedicate her life to being a dedicated and wonderful mother. Barbara was a long time volunteer for the local school system and spent hours designing games and learning tools for the Title One Program.
Barbara was a gifted artist. She enjoyed painting ceramics, writing poetry, and sewing. We will miss her greatly.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and brother, William McDonough. She is survived by her husband; Frank Miles, daughter & son-in-law; Ellen and Jason Norris, sister; Harriet Hartung and brothers; Rick, John, Patrick and Chuck McDonough. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers at this time. Due to the Covid Pandemic, there will be a memorial held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
